Recreational Fishing

Endemic Marine Wildlife Watching

We will observe this endemic species once on the brink of extinction: the friendly Juan Fernández fur seal (Arctocephalus philippii).

Endemic Marine Wildlife Watching

Birdwatching

More than four groups, both national and international, have visited us exclusively for this experience. Each expedition has been a success, with varied and surprising sightings. Some of the species recorded on our outings include:

Buller’s Albatross (adult and juvenile) – Black-browed Albatross – White-bellied Storm Petrel – Subantarctic Giant Petrel – Kermadec Petrel – Juan Fernández Petrel – Mas Afuera Petrel – White-chinned Petrel – White-faced Storm Petrel – Great-winged Petrel – Sooty Shearwater

Recreational Fishing

This activity is closely tied to artisanal fishing. Together with local guides and island captain Willy Martínez—a fisherman by tradition—we explore the waters of Juan Fernández in search of different species using various recreational fishing techniques.
Each outing is a lesson about the marine ecosystem, local species, and the importance of protecting these natural environments through catch and release practices.

Endemic Marine Wildlife Watching

We visit different areas where the fur seal lives, an endemic mammal of the islands, and also approach one of Robinson Crusoe’s islets to observe endemic flora.
Watch the Juan Fernández fur seal—unique to these islands—while learning about its history and behavior within its natural ecosystem.

Lobster Tour

This is one of our most enriching experiences, where we meet with local fishermen who share, in their own words, the art of artisanal fishing in the archipelago.
The artisanal lobster fishery of Juan Fernández is internationally recognized as a model of sustainability, thanks to its techniques and resource management—an example for other communities worldwide.

At ISLA PACÍFICO We create experiences that highlight our sustainable fishing legacy and maritime heritage, centered around the endemic seabird life of our islands.

Land Expeditions

In our Biosphere Reserve and Juan Fernández Archipelago National Park

Aerodrome Hike– Village 17K

The signature tour of Robinson Crusoe Island, where we cross an arid, desert-like landscape before entering the lush forests and dramatic cliffs of the island.

Cooking Show: Perol de Langosta

One of the emblematic dishes of the islands: a delicious and exclusive fresh lobster stew prepared together with our matriarch, Jimena Green.

Expeditions in the Biosphere Reserve

The imposing landscapes of our islands and the world-class levels of endemic flora inspire us to create expeditions that include camping in our Biosphere Reserve.

Cooking Show Perol de Langosta

Each preparation is a tribute to artisanal fishing and the authentic flavors of Juan Fernández, using local ingredients and techniques passed down through generations.

Enjoying this stew is not only a gastronomic experience but also a cultural one: it allows you to learn about our family’s history with Jimena Green, as well as the history of the islands. Sharing unique moments around the table, you connect with the very essence of the archipelago.

Expeditions in the Biosphere Reserve

During these outings, participants can explore little-traveled trails, observe species found nowhere else, and immerse themselves in the natural richness that distinguishes the Juan Fernández Archipelago.

Each expedition combines adventure, learning, and connection with nature, allowing visitors to live an authentic and unforgettable experience while appreciating the conservation of ecosystems and the importance of protecting this exceptional environment.

Aerodrome Hike– Village 17K

As we advance, we immerse ourselves in the forests and cliffs of the island, where the endemic flora and fauna reveal an extraordinary ecosystem full of secrets waiting to be discovered.

I went with a friend and stayed at the lodge. We spent a week fishing. The people who run this place are so sweet and caring. It was very comfortable flying on a charter plane with a few other guests. The owners have been part of the island for generations. If you want to fish and visit a remote destination, this is truly unique.

Guillermo and his family make this place feel like home. The meals are delicious, all prepared with local cuisine. Especially the dishes with endemic fish, lobster, and octopus—I’d say those are the house specialties.
